Q: When and where does the race start?

A: Start time will be 0630 (6:30AM) on Saturday June 27, 2020 at the Paia bypass road. Pa’ia is located approximately 3 miles East of Kahului Airport.

Q: Will there be aid stations?

A: Yes, there will be three aid stations. The first will be at the 2,700-foot level, the second will be at the 6,500-foot level (just outside the entrance to Haleakala National Park), and the last will be at the 8,000-foot level

Q: Is there Prize Money?

A: Yes. See Prize Money section on the “Race Details” page.

Q: Is my entry tax-deductible?

A: Yes. The beneficiary of the 2020 Cycle To The Sun is Paia Youth Center

Q: Will there be a race party?

A: Yes, there will be a post-race awards party with food, drinks, and entertainment in parking lot of Maui Cyclery. Results and prizes will be announced at the party. Don’t miss the party it is a lot of fun.

Q: Will I receive any race clothing, schwag, or other stuff?

A: Yes, each entry will get a T-shirt and an environmentally-friendly, re-usable cloth shopping bag with your race packet. In addition, there will be extensive merchandise prizes given to the Top 6 finishers in each race category.

Q: Will there be a Time Cutoff?

A: Yes. The finish will be closed at 1300 (1 PM). This gives riders 6 1/2 hours to reach the summit

Q: Can I ride my bike down from the top?

A: No. Bikes and competitors will be collected at the top and driven down to the Paia Community Center. Competitors riding the “half” race are allowed to ride back down, and are responsible for their own transportation.
